Comar  from "An Comar" the Irish for "The Confluence". The Confluence in question is the meeting of the Glen and Enler rivers, or as we know it now Comber. The area has been settled from before 1200AD when it is beleived a Cistercian Abbey was build on the site of the current Church of Ireland .
